3rd SCCU / London Club Championships

The SCCU Club Championships took place at St Luke’s Church, Kidderpore Avenue, London NW3 7S on Saturday, 22nd June 2024.
Teams of four players competed in a 6-round Swiss rapidplay. It comprised three rating limited sections to cater for players of all playing strengths: Major (u2100), Intermediate (u1800) and Minor (u1600). A total of 37 teams took part.

SCCU Team Jamboree - Results
28th April 2024
Two sets of jamboree matches (u2100, u1800) took place in the spacious Vernon Hall at Chalkhill Community Centre, Wembley Park on Saturday 27th April 2024.
Team code letters (A, B, C) were drawn by lot at the beginning of the match to finalise the single round of jamboree pairings (three teams, each of ten players).
Rate of play was SCCU county match standard play: 2 hours plus 10 seconds increment added after each move.
Tea, coffee and biscuits were available throughout the event.

The Team Jamboree, after an overlong 12 year hiatus, is returning on Saturday, 27th April 2024.
The venue is Chalkhill Community Centre, 113 Chalkhill Road, Wembley Park, Wembley HA9 9FX. Close to Wembley Park Tube Station.
Play starts at 2.00 pm. The venue will be open from 1.00 pm to 7.00 pm.
Entries are invited from SCCU affiliated counties for teams of 10 players. Counties may enter one team in each of the two sections: U2100 and U1800. Entry is £20 per team
All teams will play one standard rated game using Jamboree pairings, whereby each player is paired against an opponent from another county determined by each team's identifying letter and board number. Team letters will be chosen by lot.
The start of season rating list (September 2023) will be used to determine rating eligibility and the current list (April 2024) for board order.
A minimum of Bronze ECF membership is required. Games will be sent for ECF standard-play rating.

SCCU County Match Rules

As agreed at the AGM on 2nd July 2023, the match rules have been revised:
(a) Para 15. Introduction of latest monthly rating list for team board order.
(b) Para 19. Concessions during play and penalties for breach updated.

Open, U1850 & U1450 matches are scheduled to occur on one date (x) and U2050 & U1650 matches on another date (xx). This will allow captains to call on players from their county team in the adjacent lower division.
