The Kent team dedicated this match to Richard Hobell, a 161 Beckenham player who died from a diabetic coma a few weeks ago. He had played for the team last season, and for the second team this season. |

Herts observe that the equipment was not set up on time, the match started 18 minutes late, and the Cambs captain declined to advance his side's clocks. Herts played the match on the understanding that they would refer this to the Controller; which they have done, requesting "an appropriate penalty for the infringement of Rule 17". That's what we hear from Herts. The Cambs version may be different, and we'll say no more about it until it's resolved. CONTROLLER'S RULING 26.11.01 The Controller has ruled that Cambs were in clear breach of the rules, and has fined them one game point in this match. The penalty is reflected in the match score given above. It is open to Cambs to appeal to the Rules & Appeals Sub-Committee within 14 days. |

Bd 15: 21.10.01. Surrey's QPF draw claim (on the ground that the Herts player was making no effort to win by normal means) has been rejected by the independent arbiter.
